Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Balm ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. The Service is operated by Fox Haven Group LLC ("we", "us", "our"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Balm is a family coordination application that provides shared calendars, task management, shopping lists, mental load tracking, and an AI assistant. The Service is available as a web application and mobile application.
3. Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly of any unauthorized access.
How we collect, use, and protect the information associated with your account is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
4. Children & Household Members
Account holders must be at least 13 years old. Balm is designed for family use, and an adult family member may add children under 13 as "household people" (a name, and optionally a color or role) so that tasks and events can be assigned to them. Household people are managed entirely by an adult account holder and cannot sign in, create accounts, or access the Service themselves.
If you add a child under 13 as a household person, you represent that you are that child's parent or legal guardian, or that you have obtained the consent of the child's parent or guardian, and you consent on their behalf to the collection and use of that information as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for what information about a child you choose to enter. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. A parent or guardian may review or request deletion of a household person's information at any time by contacting privacy@balmhq.com.
5. Family Groups
When you create or join a family group, you agree that data you enter (tasks, events, shopping items) will be visible to all members of that group. Family administrators can invite and remove members. If you leave a family group, your contributed data remains accessible to remaining members.
6. Subscriptions & Billing
Balm offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription ($9.99/month). Pro subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe and renew automatically until canceled. You may cancel at any time through the billing settings; access continues until the end of the current billing period.
We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes do not affect the current billing period.
Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@balmhq.com for refund requests.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Upload malicious content or attempt to exploit the AI Assistant
- Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
- Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
8. AI Assistant
The AI Assistant (Pro plan) uses artificial intelligence to help with family coordination. AI responses are generated automatically and may not always be accurate. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming any actions the AI suggests. We are not liable for errors in AI-generated content.
9. Third-Party Integrations
Balm integrates with third-party services including Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Amazon Alexa, and Stripe. Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third-party terms. We are not responsible for the availability or functionality of third-party services.
10. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Fox Haven Group LLC. You retain ownership of the content you create within the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and display your content as necessary to provide the Service.
11. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fox Haven Group LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will retain your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to Terms
We may modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the app at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration seated in Arizona, except where prohibited by law, and you and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona for any matter not subject to arbitration.
