SMS notifications & consent

Balm is a family organization app operated by Fox Haven Group LLC. This page describes exactly how SMS reminders work, how consent is collected, and how to stop them.

What messages we send

Balm sends transactional task reminders and task-assignment notifications to family members — never marketing, promotions, or advertising. Example messages, exactly as sent:

Balm: Sarah assigned you "Pick up Mia from practice" - Due Thursday, Jul 9 at 3:00 PM. Reply STOP to opt out.

How consent is collected

SMS reminders are configured inside the Balm application (behind sign-in) by the family's account holder, for members of their own household:

  1. A Balm account holder on a paid plan adds a household member in the app and enters that person's mobile number, confirming they have that person's permission to receive task reminders.
  2. When creating or assigning a task, the account holder can enable "Send SMS" for that specific task and recipient. No number receives messages unless this is explicitly enabled.
  3. Every message includes opt-out language, and any recipient can reply STOP at any time to permanently stop all messages to their number — independent of the account holder's settings.

Phone numbers are only ever entered by our authenticated customers for their own family members. Balm does not purchase, rent, or import phone lists, and numbers are never used for any purpose other than the reminders described here.

Message frequency

Frequency varies with your family's activity — typically a few messages per week at most. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message to permanently opt out — this is honored immediately and applies to all future messages, regardless of app settings. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at foxhavengroupllc@gmail.com. Account holders can also disable SMS per task or remove a phone number in the app at any time.

Privacy

Mobile information — your phone number and SMS opt-in/consent data — is never shared with or sold to third parties, affiliates, or lead generators for any marketing or promotional purpose. Messages are delivered via Twilio acting as our service provider. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
